It's the only reason that democrats fight for illegals. It's not about votes. Sure their kids will vote democrat, but they brought them in for representation because people were leaving blue states and cities. Our census laws are so stupid.

Yep. Too bad the Republicans in congress are worthless.

Shouldn't they count as a non-voting block? Like say…3/5?

No, they should count as 0/5.

The Founders gave us too much credit. They couldn't foresee a time when an American political party would be illegally mass importing foreigners to get votes

Their numbers count towards representation. Nobody wants to admit it, but American citizens are getting screwed over because of it.

I think it's 14 or 15 extra congressmen just in CA, just for the illegal immigrant count. It literally changes the outcomes on what congress does and doesn't do.

Exactly. Which is why we need to fix the census laws before 2030. The democrats whole goal is the 2030 census. We are sitting here arguing with theses dumbasses over the wrong thing.

They shouldn't count at all. Trump tried to reinstate a question about citizenship on the census (which wouldn't even keep them from counting actually). The USSC rejected it. Of course Roberts was the one siding with the "I just don't understand" side. And all the assumptions the try made about the 2020 census are ridiculous. I think we all know now how many red states got disenfranchised due to those assumptions.

If they don't even want to count (evidenced by sneaking in), then we shouldn't count them

Of course they shouldn't count. It screws actual American citizens out of representation. It's the only reason states like California are fighting ICE so bad. They don't want their representation shipped out. Texas would probably lose some too, but I would be fine with that. Illegals should not count towards congressional representation whatsoever.

So, why do illegals count towards representation? Blue states have figured out that they can pack them in to give themselves more representative power because of our r**arded census laws. Why? If this wasn't possible, democrats wouldn't care one bit about illegals or the border.

The founders did not foresee a radical leftist party that would weaponize lawlessness to exploit a loosely worded phrase in the constitution that would be interpreted to allow warm bodies to be the standard for representative and elector allocations by state.

Illegals count toward congressional representation because the 14th amendment of the US Constitution requires all persons living in each statenot just citizensfor purposes of House seats and Electoral College votes. Democrats are fighting to keep illegals because blue and highimmigration states would lose seats, while red and swing states would gain seats. I hope Congress passes a bill to include US citizens only for congressional representation.
