California made it illegal to de-claw cats under the premises that it's mutilating them for cosmetic purposes.....but is strongly in favor of mutilating children for the same reason.

...and Oregon has set a limit on how many dogs you can own and where you can keep them (four). I guess when you have a litter of puppies, the puppies need post birth abortions to comply with the law?

I guess you could always skirt around the new laws by saying your dogs identify as raccoons and cats identify as possums ?

Oregon has passed its first anti lesbian law. We are living in strange times.

What will this do to Subaru sales?

Oregon does not have a single statewide limit on dog ownership,

https://www.thedogkennelcollection.com/dog-kennel-laws-in/oregon/

maybe you mean The Dalles

The law creates a cap on how many adult dogs are allowed in one home:

You can keep up to four grown dogs if you live in a single-family house.
If you are in a duplex, apartment, or similar housing, you are limited to two grown dogs.
No matter where you live, you can only have one female dog used for breeding. Puppies that are less than six months old don't count against these numbers.

Well, a California court decided that bees are fish, so anything is possible.

Since you're deep diving Marvin, could you research the Oregon laws on slime in the ice machine?

This jives with our SCOTUS liberal, who testified that she (a lawyer) is not a biologist.

I have been saying for a while that there is a strong correlation between proclivity toward cat ownership/hoarding and liberalism. That these people value cats over human children is instructive

They have a similar cap here of 6 dogs in a house here in rural Idaho of all places. Don't think this thread relates to something terribly uncommon.

Two things can be true at once:

1. Declawing cats is indeed cruel and inhumane and should be banned.

2. The trans stuff is ridiculous and should be banned.

Ban anyone on government assistance from owning pets.

The amount spent on pets by poor people is insane.

According to the Google, in Texas our version is local not by the state. It also looks like we're more in tune with the area the person lives, which is a good thing

Quote:

Yes, Texas has limits on the number of dogs you can have, but these rules are set by local cities and counties, not the state, so they vary widely; many areas cap dogs at 4 to 6 pets (dogs/cats) without a special permit, requiring licenses, inspections, and potentially a multi-pet permit for more, with larger properties sometimes allowing more, while some rural areas have fewer restrictions if zoning permits.
Key Factors & Examples:
Local Ordinances: Dallas might limit you to 4 dogs/cats in apartments and 6 in single-family homes, while Fort Worth allows 3 dogs and 3 cats but offers multi-pet permits.
Property Size: Larger properties, especially those over an acre, often have higher limits or different rules, with some rural areas having no limits if zoning allows and sanitary conditions are met.
Permits: Many cities (like Fort Worth) require a multi-pet permit for exceeding the base number, involving applications, inspections, and fees.
Examples of Limits:
Dallas: 4 pets (dogs/cats) in apartments; 6 in single-family homes.
Fort Worth: 3 dogs/cats, with permits for more.
Lufkin: Max 6 dogs/cats combined in city limits.

There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the later ignorance. Hippocrates

They just charged a gal in College Station for hoarding six dead and 18 live dogs. To my mind, an excessive number of canines: https://wtaw.com/college-station-woman-arrested-this-week-following-a-dog-rescue-last-november/

Trimming their nails is fine, but declawing a cat is tantamount to removing the outermost part of each of your fingers up to the knuckle. It's incredibly painful, cruel, leaves them defenseless, and messes with their posture causing health problems.
