Posted for discussion. I got these two items come across my Facebook feed earlier today. I have family in the area. There are tons of foreign exchange students living in this area. If anything happens, I am sure all SJW from Austin will show up. A friend mentioned that maybe ICE should have come two weeks ago when all the fireworks stands were open.

Sounds like both cities are tying to keep the mob off their back.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

ICE is doing their job and gave a heads up to the locals.

Isn't this how its supposed to work?

Since when does that matter to the mobs?

Depends, some of the locals are enemies of DHS deportation operations and can't be trusted. Especially, as in example MN, L.A., Seattle, and Portland were they are actually told to stand down and not enforce the local laws.

I think clearly there was no reason for these cities to make these announcements. Just do what you do and go on. But instead they make these announcements for no reason other than to convey their non-support, or at least non-involvement, with these federal entities doing their jobs.

It sounds like a hostile work environment for illegals, maybe they should self deport.

I think the cancer has metastasized from Austin. It won't stop until life(as you know it) has ended.

Lets knock out some questions.

Buda and Kyle are Hays County, we haven't gone blue yet, but it is a fight.

No Chinese buffet in Buda

This is really funny because ICE has already been running operations in Central Texas. There is a very prominent Aggie family and construction company that had an episode not too long ago on one of their sites.

21 between San Marcos and Bastrop might as well be Mexico. I doubt it's more than 15% citizens.

The other reason is to inform illegals that they are in the area. It is a BS move.

I think that battle is lost. Hays County was only ever marginally red at best. Places like Driftwood and Wimberley might have been red for a while, but that area east of IH-35 and around San Marcos has bed blue for quite some time. Plus the county was run by yellow dogs forever.

We are new to the Driftwood area. So strange I've yet to meet a liberal.

Places like Round Rock, Taylor, Lockhart, Bastrop, and Hays County are overrun with liberals that had to move out of Austin because they could not afford it. Hays and Caldwell County get the double whammy because of the big number of illegals that also moved in. You can't swing a gato muerte between San Marcos and Lockhart without hitting a Poco Loco convenience store.

The reason they came was Kyle City Council woman Claudia Zapata is anti Ice and anti cop and condemned what Ice did and Minneapolis and made it a point to say it on her official city page.

The city and Police Dept was not happy. We believe this is why Ice came. She is an idiot.

Not sure about that. I know there are pockets but this area genuinely seems red. The more rural area of course. Clearly Buda and Kyle are not red.

They are there. Hays itself is blue. The county judge Becerra is going for his 3rd term and is as corrupt as they can be. Luckily Hipolito who is Conservative win as Sherrif. He is out of Dripping Springs.

Been in Kyle 16 years now and boy has it changed. We are building a home in Caldwell County right now. Even the Dems there are not far left. Weird to see both sides working with each other in the community and not being militant with each other like in Hays. Texas State is the epicenter now for the socialist movement in the area.

I don't have a problem with the city registering a legit complaint/issue here, but do they really need to have a press release about it?

That's like me coming on here and saying I won a motion hearing on a case no one cares about.
