It's hard to think of one thing the government doesn't Eff up. This will be another. Not that day care is a great thing already.

Those who put their kids in that program, will soon look around and see how screwed up it is, and then rail, not against those who created and maintain it, but against those who refused to put their kids there and have used private day care, where the kids flourished.

If I lived or owned a business in New York, I would be looking to move asap, especially those who are high middle to upper income. The communists are coming after you. That state will be ruined and unaffordable within a decade.

If there is money, Just pay the moms the watch their own kids so they don't have to work annd don't need childcare in the first place…

Why pay strangers to watch someone's kids when the mom could watch them? But the mom is working….? Maybe give the money to the mom instead so they won't have to work and can watch their own kid?

Society is really backwards these days.

I know paying moms isn't a real practical solution either, but it's at least more family orientated instead of state or government run daycare.

The federal government already does this. The state programs are just adding to it but they aren't going to call it "supplemental welfare".

"Free." Commies love to say things are free. It's paid for by the people they're telling it's free.

California is backing out of some of their own "free" programs as we speak. You would think NY would simply look at CA and immediately understand this is not going to work, financially.

I'm sitting here perplexed at how the state will manage the bloated logistics. LaQuesha can't be expected to take her precious bundle of joy 10+ miles on the subway to get to the nearest care facility. Or are they going to convert already overcrowded classrooms from schools to daycare units?

New York State has approximately 1.1 to 1.4 million children aged 0-5.
