One of the the most disturbing things about the recent debate, and there were many, was that there wasn't a single question about the threat to our nation's future posed by the national debt. Rep Massie admits at a recent congressional hearing on the up and coming continuing resolution bill that the hearings are all just political theater. He then states, "I refuse to be a thespian in a failed theater". Republicans and Democrats pretend to argue but reality just keep kicking the can down the road. Congress has had months to come up with 12 appropriations bills but again had failed the American people.

I don't see how someone could do what's necessary and be elected in a democracy. How can the final solution be anything but bankruptcy?

See: 3:12 - what I originally saw was a snip, and didn't care to review the rest. The obsession with politicians is strange though lol. It's almost like telling a Falcons fan that the Eagle's are the best team.

are you serious? Massie and Peterson are clearly on the same team re: AI, government surveillance, and police/security state. He asked his expert witness questions that would invite him to start talking about his expertise.


If you know anything about Massie, you'd know he got rich through tech companies, bought the farm in Kentucky his wife grew up on, and made it self-sufficient and off the grid; he doesn't want or support a government surveillance state. He only got into local politics because he needed to get through some red tape bureaucratic BS for his farm. He was so successful at breaking through local red tape, his neighbors asked him to run for state rep and ultimately US rep for his district in KY. He doesn't need to be there. He's not for sale by the lobbyists. He's an actual public servant who is there to serve the people. Extremely RARE.

Because 4 more years of double digit inflation will bring people back to the ballot box. We are just waiting for the next Reagan / Newt combo. Trump was hopeful, but he ain't it. But, the gameplan is laid out and obvious for the taking.

Did you listen to that whole 6 mins?

He threw him a softball, calling him a luddite wasn't an insult, it was bestowing a compliment - meaning he (Massie) agrees with Peterson in that we should not just give in to technology and provide the govt/corporations with all of the information that makes us private citizens.

this is old, but for those unaware, I highly recommend this 35 min video about Massie's self-sufficient farm where he also discusses how he got there and how he got into politics




also sad looking back, as he clearly loves his wife and family very much and his wife just died this year.

I think its sort of this "safety in numbers" fallacy. The larger the affected group, the less people care because they don't think they will have to deal with it.

The solution is to not have such a large federal government. Distribute the problem to more smaller groups (the states) who have (slightly) more accountability as well as more chance of some states actually "getting it right".

Plato says "hello". You are 100% right. He said a LONG time ago, that a Democracy is the second worst form of gov't. The people vote out the treasury, find themselves in trouble, and look for the Strong Man to come and save them.

We were never supposed to be a Democracy, but we have devolved into one thanks to the Democrazies and the uniparty Rhinos.

Because someone sent me a shortened clip of the exchange a while back, and I never even looked into it. A mistake was made, and the response is unreasonable.

The 16th and 17th amendments killed off the republic and turned us into a democracy. The EC gives us the false impression the republic still exists.
