• Chorizo and eggs for breakfast at my most awesome of desks
• We have only the finest in technology here - flatscreens from 2008 and a keyboard that's probably from around then too
• It's about time to start cleaning up the car before our cross-crountry trip back to see my parents
• Kids better stop acting up or the entertainment I planned for them for the drive won't be there and they'll get books and whatever they can see out the window

Dog declined walk. Work. Work out. Work. Lubricated the rails for my patio door last night - makes a big difference.

My dog Prada doesn't decline walks, she says "FEH!" when she wants nothing to do with them.

I do NOT want to cook dinner tonight but I probably will.

7am meeting was quick.

• Remembered to warm up the car before my school drop off rounds
• Sent email with a counter for pay from the job offer received yesterday. Hoping it buys some time
• 2nd round interview at 12 today with another company that I had to nudge them a little bit since the job offer was received.
• Decisions...it would be a no brainer if the first offer wasn't in office full time. yuck
• Band Concert tonight for Diesel son 1. At least it's the last performance so we won't be fighting for a parking spot with the other parents at 5pm
• Ready for the Christmas Break

It depends with Cassie. Normally she'll get up when I come by to put on her harness, but occasionally, she'll ignore me and continue holding down the couch or bed. Other times she'll get harnessed up, look outside when I open the door, then turn around and go back to bed.

- Driving to Dallas on Thursday - 13'ish hours, vomit. Will break it up into two days, I've never driven that far by myself.

She gets it off at around 11:30 tomorrow.

Taking a vacation day today as I lose any that I haven't used by the end of the year. I've spent the morning building a Windows 11 VM. I'm ready to switch my physical desktop from Windows to back to Linux, so I'll need to build a Windows VM to be able to continue doing things like using Microsoft Office. I also prefer to print from Windows. I got to a good stopping point and an exporting the new VM to a thumb drive so that I can import it once I have Linux up on my desktop. It's going VERY SLOWLY. This might have to run overnight.

Have bagged up three bags of garbage while waiting for the VM to export (it's only at 5% as I write this). Think I'll take them to the dumpster now. Exciting stuff!! Currently 53F outside, so it won't be unpleasant going out.

I should have phrased it differently.

How many hours does she have to wear the pump? For instance, I had to wear a pump for 48 hours every two weeks after the infusion of the heavy hitter drugs.

Is she having to go longer than 48? I hope not.

You can't carry over any vacation at all?

None. Have to zero it out every December.

That SUCKS! I hope you end up with 4-6 weeks every year then, damn!

Why are you driving to Dallas? You were just there. But you drove from Dallas to Iowa, so what do you mean you've never driven that far by yourself? I've realized I know too much about you.

EDIT - It's nice that Uncle Mark sent a card. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would forget to send a birthday card.

I wasn't alone when I made the drive before! And I want to spend Christmas with my sister/fam since she'll be in Dallas.

Mark insisted that I bring my car to Iowa for the summer - for what reason, I will never know. I think he thought having my car there would make it more tempting for me to permanently stay.

I don't want my 2WD car up here for the winter to rust and skid around in the snow. I don't know how to drive in this, I'm not going to chance it with 2WD. He has a perfectly nice AWD sedan sitting in the garage and I intend to drive that - as I would have had he not insisted I bring my own car.

Plus, I HATE renting a car when I'm in Dallas. It feels wrong.
